My friend Dan at Apprentice2Jesus posted yesterday about having rented the movie “2012”, which supposedly is about the idea that since the Mayan calendar ends in the year 2012, that the world will end in that year. I don’t know, I haven’t seen that movie, but with all the hype we see all over the TV and the internet, and judging from Dan’s post, that’s clearly the premise.

So what is it about 2012? Don’t the prophesies of Nostradamus seem to predict the end in 2012 as well? What’s a Christian supposed to believe?

OK, so if Nostradamus says 2012 is all she wrote, and the Mayan calendar says 2012 is all she wrote, and all the other prophets wandering around the earth say 2012 is all she wrote…

…does that mean that 2012 is all she wrote?

It seems to me that something is missing here. What does the Bible say? Does the Bible say that the world will end in 2012? Does the Bible even say that the “age” will end in 2012?

The Bible speaks of not only a 1000-year reign of Jesus Christ on earth, but also eternal life with God after that. (Of course, if you’re amillennial, then don’t worry about the first part of that. 😉 )

Why are Christians getting all upset about the “possibility” that the world will end in 2012? Where is your faith? Even if every person in the world was prophesying and was convinced that the world would end in 2012, it’s still all in God’s hands.

It’s all in God’s hands.

Who are you putting your faith in? Where are you looking for truth?
