Back a month and a half or so we had snow, snow, and more snow. Above is a picture of our front yard around 4:30 in the afternoon one day as my wife and I were out shoveling. (She’s the Eskimo with the snow shovel there.) You can see on the right side of the picture how the snowpile is as high as the top rail on our deck. We didn’t know where we were going to put any more snow, because we couldn’t hardly throw it any higher.

Below is a photo I took yesterday, March 15, 2010. You can see how much it has melted. (The little dog is our toy fox terrier, Kiwi) While the river is rising and there are flood warnings posted for this area, that’s all down in the river valley; we live on top of the hill.
