Have you seen the news stories out there today about a so-called “Christian Militia Group” that has been captured, which was supposedly (according to most of the news stories) planning to kill police officers?
The most intelligent news stories I’ve seen regarding this group says that they’re a group that is planning to fight the anti-christ when he appears.
How far have we fallen in this country when our mainstream media is totally unable to discern the difference between a Christian group and a bunch of kooks? In fact, even the less-mainstream media, the ones you would think might know the difference, still refers to them as “Christian Militia”.
The CNN story says this about the group’s beliefs:
The group says on its Web site that Hutaree means “Christian warrior” and proclaims on its home page, “Preparing for the end time battles to keep the testimony of Jesus Christ alive.”
In the Web site’s “About Us” section, the group says, “We believe that one day, as prophecy says, there will be an Anti-Christ. All Christians must know this and prepare, just as Christ commanded.”
Now I don’t care if you’re Methodist, or Baptist, or Lutheran, or Presbyterian, or Catholic, you know just as well as I do that those are not the beliefs of mainstream Christians in this country. Those beliefs are simply wacko. They are a bunch of kooks! I find it absolutely insulting that they even use the word “Christian” to describe them!
So why can’t the mainstream media see that? Are they really that far out of touch with Christian belief?
