Steny Hoyer, the number two Democrat in the House of Representatives has derided a Minnesota radio host for calling Dems “commies”, as reported on StarTribune.com.
OK, so I suppose Hoyer has a point. Democrats have recently become very thin-skinned when it comes to the way conservatives and other Republicans call them names, like “commies”, “pinkos”, and one of the worst, “socialists”!
It’s not so much what they’re calling the Dems, it’s that they’re calling them names. They want us to be civil, and respectful.
Well, maybe they have a point, but they also need to take a look at what they stand for, and where that puts them on the political spectrum. Most Democrats are socialists who don’t want to be so labeled. Many believe strongly in Marxist philosophy and are really only one step away from being communists. But because those labels have a strongly negative connotation, they resent being called those things.
I think maybe the Democrats and other liberals need to take a look at what they believe, and realize that they themselves are not “middle-of-the-roaders”, but are in fact way off in the left ditch. They need to realize that Ronald Reagan was not a right-wing nut, but was actually very middle-of-the-road, and what this country needs is not socialists, communists, and Marxists, but good, middle-of-the-road Americans like Ronald Reagan.
Then maybe they’ll realize why the Tea-Partiers are rising up against them. Then they’ll realize why there is a Tea Party to begin with. It’s because of them!
